The total number of payment and terminal transactions involving non-MFIs in the Eurozone from 2010 to 2019 increased steadily throughout the years. As of 2013, there were approximately 67.6 billion such transactions made in the Euro area which has risen to over 98 billion transactions as of 2019.
The number of institutions in the Eurozone offering payment services to non-MFIs, on the other hand, has on average declined over the 2010-2019 period.
