In 2022, the number of non-fatal road traffic injuries in Iceland decreased by 32 individuals (-2.78 percent) since 2021. Nevertheless, the last two years recorded a significant higher number of non-fatal road traffic injuries than the preceding years. Road injuries refer to the number of people harmed during a road accident involving at least one motor vehicle. These injuries can be fatal or non-fatal. Non-fatal injuries cover a broad spectrum of reported injuries, including but not limited to hospital stays after an accident.
