The capital of France was the most attractive city destination worldwide in 2021, according to a global ranking based on six performance pillars. The best-rated metric for the "City of Lights" – as Paris is also known – was its tourism performance, whereas its health and safety indicator obtained the city's lowest score. That year, Dubai placed second in the ranking, with its tourism policy and attractiveness, along with its health and safety metric, being the best performing pillars. In each of those categories, Dubai occupied the world's fourth place.
