Most listened to general radio stations in Spain 2024

In terms of the most popular general content radio stations, SER topped the list with figures reaching over four million daily listeners. COPE ranked second, amassing approximately 3.4. million daily listeners in early 2024. Radio broadcasting is one of the preferred outlets for communication in Spain.

Spanish radio consumer profile and trends

The average person in Spain spent 94 minutes a day listening to the radio, according to the latest surveys. This figure has however gradually dwindled, since the peak of daily radio listening time was registered in 2003 at 117.7 minutes per person on average. Radio listeners found their largest age group among those aged 45-54 years, with an audience share within this age range of close to 65 percent in 2022.

Spanish radio sector in numbers

Spain generated 59.3 billion euros' worth of information and communication products according to the latest studies. Spain's revenue from the information and communication products was valued at over 83 billion euros. As for the revenues generated from radio advertising, recent data shows an ongoing increase, at least before the coronavirus pandemic halted the industry in 2020. However, in 2021, the figures already indicate recovery, inching over 400 million euros.
