In 2018, there were 841 radio and audio services authorized in the English language, while in comparison there were just 222 services authorized to broadcast in French. The number of services catering to English and French-speaking Canadians has fallen since 2012, whilst the number of radio and audio services broadcasting in a third language has grown from 32 to 52 in the same time period.
