Internet chats and instant messengers: usage frequency in Germany 2016

This statistic shows the results of a survey on the frequency of chatting and instant messaging (e.g. via Skype or Facebook Messenger) on the internet in Germany from 2014 to 2016. In 2014, there were about 16.53 million internet users among the German-speaking population aged 14 years and older, who used chats or instant messengers frequently or on a regular basis. By 2016 this figure had decreased to 15.12 million.
