* Number of respondents differed from year to year: Base: Up to 2009: Germans aged 14 years and older in Germany (2009: n=1,806; 2006: n=1,820; 2003: n = 1,955). From 2010 onwards: German-speaking population aged 14 years and older (2014: n=1,814, 2013: n=1,800, 2012: n=1,800, 2011: n=1,800, 2010: n=1,804, 2015: n=1,800, 2016: n=1,508, 2017: n=2,017, 2018: n=2,009, 2019: n=2,000, 2020: n=3,003, 2021: n= 2,001, 2022: n= 2,007).
As of 2017, internet usage has been recorded differently: as a calculated value out of 15. Prior to this, a blanket question was posed 'internet used'.
** From 2019 onwards the number of internet users in the 60 years and older age group was not recorded.
