This statistic shows the leading asset management companies administering investment funds involved in the microfinance sector in Europe as of December 2014, ranked by the share of all assets under management. It was found that ResponsAbility and KfW dominated the market with 26 percent and 20 percent of assets under management, respectively. Many firms were clustered together in the "rest" category in the ranking.

Responsible investment is defined by EUROSIF as "any type of investment process that combines investors’ financial objectives with their concerns about Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues."
The source further defines microfinance funds as : "MIVs raise funds from public, institutional and private investors to support microfinance institutions worldwide. MIVs can take the form of collective investment schemes (e.g. mutual funds) or other dedicated investment vehicles. MIVs loan money to MFIs or alternatively purchase their debt or equity instruments. Although this definition includes all types of vehicles, this study solely includes investment funds.".
