Responsible investment is defined by EUROSIF as "any type of investment process that combines investors’ financial objectives with their concerns about Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues."

The source adds further comments about environmental/ecological funds: "Funds investing at least 80 percent of their assets in equities of companies active in a mix of environmental/green sectors. Funds that invest in similar sectors but are not equity funds (e.g. bonds, money market or guaranteed funds)".
