Live broadcast TV and video streaming consumption in the U.S. 2021, by generation
Watching live TV was more common among the baby boomer and Gen X generations than among the younger age group in the United States as of 2021. Over half of baby boomers interviewed in a survey stated use live TV three hours and more per day, while the share of Gen Z respondents viewing live TV broadcasts amounted to 19 percent. Gen Z and millennials were more likely to stream videos instead.
