The average number of local TV news hours per weekday has been fluctuating in the United States since 2003. In 2016, the number was around 5.7 hours per weekday, presenting a drop to 5.6 hours per weekday one year later. In 2018 and 2019, the average number was stable to 5.9 hours per weekday, while in 2022 this figure developed to 6.6 hours per weekday.
