In December 2023, China's new energy vehicle sales amounted to nearly 1.2 billion units, of which 1.1 billion were passenger electric vehicles and 62,000 were commercial electric vehicles. Sales of passenger battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and passenger plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) were 764,000 and 363,000 units respectively.
