Overseas visitors to government funded museums in England 2019-2023, by museum
The number of overseas visitors to museums sponsored by the UK government's Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) in England rose significantly in 2022/2023 over the previous fiscal year. Despite the increase, attendance by overseas visitors remained below the figures recorded before the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Overall, the British Museum reported the highest figure between April 2022 and March 2023, with roughly 2.5 million overseas visitors.
