In 2023, the mean weekly gross earnings in the financial and insurance activities sector in the United Kingdom (UK) earned by men working full-time were 1,295.4 British pounds, whereas for female full-time employees, the mean pay was 995.3 British pounds per week. In part-time positions, women earned 428.2 British pounds, which was moderately higher than the weekly earnings of men working part-time.

The source added the following information "Mean - the mean is a measure of the average which is derived by summing the values for a given sample, and then dividing the sum by the number of observations (i.e. jobs) in the sample. In earnings distributions, the mean can be disproportionately influenced by a relatively small number of high-paying jobs."
The source provides further information: data for "employees on adult rates whose pay for the survey pay-period was not affected by absence."
