In 2018, the total assets of Brazil's financial institutions amounted to approximately 5.037 trillion U.S. dollars, out of which about 40 percent was attributed to assets of banks in the country. Also during this time, the assets of the nation's central bank reached around 896.7 billion U.S. dollars, while insurance companies' assets in Brazil added up to about 52.25 billion dollars.
