Share of British adults using credit to pay for essential items 2009-2015
The statistic presents the share of British adults, who used credit out of necessity to pay for essential items in the six months preceding the survey fieldwork from 2009 to 2015. In 2010, approximately 15 percent of consumers in Great Britain admitted to having used credit to pay for essentials. This share decreased to 12 percent in the latest survey results for 2015.
