London 2012 Olympic Games: 5-10 year olds motivation to take part in sports 2011-2016

This statistic represents how the UK hosting the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games has encouraged children aged 5 to 10 in England to take part in sports during the period and during in the two years following the games. In the 2011/12 survey 72 percent of young children saying the games did not not encourage them to participate in sports at all. However in 2013/14 the share of those encouraged 'a lot' rose from 4 to 14 percent.
