Perfumes and toiletries production value 2011-2018

In 2018, the production value of the perfumes and toilet preparations manufacturing industry in the European Union increased by 5.4 billion euros (+13.02 percent) since 2017. Therefore, the production value in the European Union reached a peak in 2018 with 47.2 billion euros. Notably, the production value in this industry continuously increased over the last years.
The value of production is defined by Eurostat as the amount actually produced by the unit, based on sales, including changes in stocks and the resale of goods and services.

The source adds the following information: 'Production value measures the amount actually produced by the unit, based on sales, including changes in stocks and the resale of goods and services. The production value is defined as turnover, plus or minus the changes in stocks of finished products, work in progress and goods and services purchased for resale, minus the purchases of goods and services for resale, plus capitalised production, plus other operating income (excluding subsidies).'
