Customer complaints about pensions in the United Kingdom (UK) 2009-2023

The number of complaints submitted to the Financial Ombudsman regarding pension products and services in the United Kingdom (UK) generally increased between the financial years of 2009/2010 and 2022/2023, albeit with fluctuations. A total of 7,800 new complaints regarding pensions was reached in 2020/2021 - the highest number of pension-related complaints recorded during the time period under observation. At the beginning of the time period, the number of complaints stood at 3,594, so there has been a general increase of over four thousand complaints since then.
