This statistic displays the percentage of primary Sjögren's patients in the U.S. and the EU with comorbidities, as of 2015. Some 28 percent of primary Sjögren's patients in the U.S. and EU had some thyroid disease as well. Sjögren's syndrome is characterized by a person's white blood cells attacking moisture-producing glands which can cause dry eyes and mouth, as well as fatigue and joint pains. This condition is considered a chronic autoimmune disease.
