From 2012/2013 to 2019/2020, the share of individuals aged between 16 and 24 years who engaged with the arts in England at least once during the year decreased overall. In 2012/2013, roughly 80 percent of respondents within this age group engaged with the arts. In 2019/2020, the share dropped to 73 percent. Arts engagement refers to attending and/or participating in the arts sector, such as visiting an art gallery or participating in a theatre performance.
