Means of transport
About 80 percent of Italians own one car or more, while only 20 percent do not. Since the economic boom and the first Fiat 500, cars are now an integral part of the Italian way of life. In fact, private vehicles are the most used means of transport for Italians, followed by public transport and bicycles.
German competitors
Considering the other German competitors, we can observe a similar sales trend.
The car sales of Audi increased in Italy between 2013 and 2019. This trend was also experienced by the German manufacturer Volkswagen in the same period.
Volkswagen performed quite well, reaching 176,813 units sold as of 2019.
