The use of prepaid debit cards by households in the United States from 2013 to 2019 can be categorized by tenure. It was found that 6.6 percent of the households which owned the house in which they lived used prepaid debit cards in 2019, while 12 percent of non-homeowners used prepaid debit cards in this year.
Home-ownership is not common among young people. Similarly, in particular 15 to 24 year-olds use prepaid debit cards in the United States (11.6 percent in 2019).
