This statistic illustrates the distribution of various card fraud cases in Europe from 2008 to 2013, listed by types of fraud. In 2013, 66 percent of card-related fraud resulted from card-not-present payments, meaning payments conducted by phone, by post or via the Internet. Since 2008 the share of point-of-sale transactions fraud has decreased, from 36 percent to 20 percent in 2013.
