Under 30 percent of respondents in Russia in 2019 had a rather positive attitude towards the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, compared to eight percent who were of the opposite opinion. Every tenth survey participant saw both advantages and disadvantages in the reunification of Germany. As for the meaning of this historical event for interests of Russia, the society was mostly confused whether it benefitted their country or did more harm than good.
