The statistic illustrates the value of euro banknotes produced by institutions in the eurozone from 2005 to 2020. The volume and value of currency produced is not always the same as the currency issued into circulation. It can be seen that the value of euro banknotes produced fluctuated during this period, reaching a total value of over 205 billion euros as of 2020. The largest value of euro banknotes produced during the period under observation were produced in 2009, when almost 476 billion euros worth of banknotes were produced.
