Global venture capital investments into the fintech sector more than doubled in 2021. In that year, more than 120 billion U.S. dollars was invested by VC firms, up from only 45.7 billion U.S. dollars in the previous year. In 2022, investments into fintech dropped notably, but still remained well above the investment volume of 2020. The downward trend continued in 2023, when the value of investments dropped to 46.3 billion U.S. dollars.
