In 2022, the largest private equity (PE) deal in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) was made by PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna, for a 100-percent stake in PKP Energetyka in Poland. This transaction amounted to 1.3 billion euros. The second-largest PE deal amounted to around 890 million euros, the price paid by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co for a 100-percent stake in ContourGlobal's business in Bulgaria, Romania, and Slovakia.
