This statistic represents how the UK hosting the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games has encouraged children in England to take part in sports, as of a survey conducted between April 2015 and March 2016. At this time the majority of survey respondents aged 11 to 15 (57 percent) claimed to have been encouraged to participate in sports to some extent. However in the younger age group almost 70 percent did not feel encouraged at all.
