Air France KLM: passenger load factor 2010-2022

In 2021, Air France-KLM reported the lowest passenger load factor in the last decade at 57.4 percent. In 2019, the Air France-KLM Group’s passenger load factor corresponded to 88 percent. The decrease within this timeframe is assigned to the government restrictions applied to restrict the spread of the coronavirus.

The Air France-KLM Group uplifted more passengers while also increasing its flight capacities

In 2019, Air France-KLM uplifted a total of 104.2 million passengers generating an annual passenger revenue of roughly 21.1 billion euros. At the same time, Air France-KLM’s annual passenger capacity reached a peak at around 299.6 billion available seat-kilometers.

The increase of Air France-KLM’s revenue might also be due to the reduction of its annual fuel costs

It is also important to notice that the group seems to have also increased their annual revenue by reducing its annual fuel costs. In 2020, the airline spent around 2.4 billion euros in fuel costs, down from more than 7.2 billion euros in 2012.
