Among selected European countries, the United Kingdom (UK) led the market with the highest merger and acquisition (M&A) activity during the fourth quarter of 2020. The UK had a total of 915 inbound and 1,010 outbound M&A deals, followed by France with 386 inbound and 531 outbound deals. The top three is completed by Germany, with a total of 603 inbound deals and 487 outbound deals in the last quarter of 2020.

Only data for the leading 20 global outbound acquirers and inbound markets is provided in the source report. Any figures missing either inbound or outbound only represents that the country in question was not included in the top 20 global list, not that zero deals were made.
