In 2024, approximately 170,000 workers in South East England were on a zero-hours contract, the most of any region of the United Kingdom. When adjusted for population size, the West Midlands had the highest percentage of workers on a zero-hours contract, at 3.7 percent, compared with the UK average of 3.1 percent.
