This statistic shows public opinion on the state of the present system of governing in Great Britain from 2004 to 2018. In the most recent period of 2018, 29 percent of respondents felt that the system needed a great deal of improvement. The share of respondents who felt that the system could be improved quite a lot remained nearly constant, dropping from 42 to 38 percent of respondents. By comparison, the share of respondents who believed the way of governing could be improved in small ways, but overall worked quite well, decreased from 34 percent in 2004 to 27 percent in the most recent surveyed time period.
