In 2023, the largest merger and acquisition (M&A) deal in Asia (excluding Japan) was the acquisition of VinFast Auto Pte Ltd, a Vietnam-based multinational automotive company, by Black Spade Acquisition Co, an Indian banking and financial services company also headquartered in Mumbai. The deal was worth over 23 billion U.S. dollars.
