An estimated 1.74 billion nights were spent by residents in travel accommodations across the European Union member countries in 2019. That was compared to an estimated 1.68 billion non-residents staying overnight in short-stay accommodation in the same year. In total, overnight stays in all types of travel accommodation in the EU in 2019 reached approximately 3.42 billion nights.
