This statistic shows the global production of electrified powertrain-fitted plug-in vehicles as a share of overall powertrain production from 2011 to 2020. Electric powertrain-equipped plug-in vehicles are predicted to account
for about 0.5 percent of vehicles produced in 2016. Of the around 111 million vehicles that are projected to be produced globally in 2020, it is expected that some 5.1 million vehicles will have an electrified powertrain.
