Locations for internet usage in Germany 2019

In 2019, around 61 percent of respondents to a survey stated they used the internet on the go. As this graph shows, the internet can accompany users in all areas of their lives, whether they are at home or on the go.

The internet is everywhere

The number of internet users in Germany has only been growing in recent years. The opposite was true for those who were offline. In fact, the population seems to be increasingly connected, for more and more hours in a day. The share of households with internet access in Germany has also been steadily growing. Not being able to go online at home is practically unimaginable these days and is largely seen as an inconvenience. Meanwhile, at work, most companies had a DSL or other type of stationary access, as well as using a mobile connection.

On the go

Most internet users go online daily, on various devices, at work and at home. The share ofdaily mobile internet users is another area where growth has been recorded. In 2019, 37 percent of Germans used mobile internet every day.
