As of that date, there have been 1,599 confirmed cases among men and 1,747 among women in Guinea. The Ebola virus causes extremely severe hemorrhagic fever and is considered a Risk Group 4 Pathogen by the World Health Organization (WHO). The health sector will focus on cross-border regions to strengthen treatment, testing, and contact tracing.
