This statistic shows the results of a survey in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Arab World on freedom of speech regarding political topics. The survey was conducted between December 2012 and April 2013 in Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Lebanon, Qatar, Tunisia and the UAE. Some 38 percent of respondents living in the UAE state they feel comfortable saying what they think about politics and public issues.

The source phrases the question as follows: "To what extent do you agree with the following statement? Use a scale of 1 to 5 where 1 means "strongly disagree", and 5 means "strongly agree": "In general, I feel comfortable saying what I think about politics/public issues."
