Change in number of high street stores in Great Britain 2015, by business type
This statistic shows the change in the net number of multiple retail stores opening and closing in town centres in Great Britain, by type of business in 2015. The data includes the ten business types which opened the most new branches and ten business types with the highest number of forced closures. Coffee shops and jewellers were among the most successful, with a net change of 80 and 48 units across Britain respectively. Cheque cashing businesses were the hardest hit, with a net change of 199 units.
