Travel distance in England 2017, by age and mode

This statistic compares the distance travelled by men and women per year on different modes of transport in England in 2017. The distance travelled by men driving vans was far greater than any other mode of transport. Women travelled further than men on foot. The observable trend here is that more men use private transport than women, while women walk and use public transport more often. An exception is in the category 'surface rail' where far more men were recorded using this mode of transport than women.
