While 92 percent of the inhabitants of Ukraine reported owning a mobile phone in 2017, just 41 percent of respondents to the survey conducted by Google and TNS Infratest reported owning a smartphone. 95 percent of respondents own a television, and 56 percent reporting owning a computer of any type. In total, Ukrainians own an average of 1.4 connected devices per person.
Findings from other European nations
Ukraine’s rates of smartphone and computer ownership are relatively low, in comparison with other European nations. In Slovenia, for example, 70 percent of respondents report ownership of a smartphone, and 77 percent claim to own a computer. In Czechia, 65 percent own a smartphone, and 76 percent own a computer.

Among those who own smartphones in Ukraine, using search engines and visiting social networks are two of the most popular ways to use the devices. The use of smartphones to conduct ecommerce is unpopular in Ukraine, with just six percent of respondents using their smartphones to purchase products or services.
