This statistic shows the percentage of those who had currently used alcohol in the past month among persons aged 12 to 20 in the United States, by age group from 2002 to 2013. In 2009, 13.1 percent of those 14 or 15 years old claimed to have had current alcohol use in the past month. Alcoholism refers to problems with alcohol and often refers to alcohol addiction. Alcohol has the potential to cause damage to all organs of the body.
