This statistic presents the most common types of online harassment experienced by internet users in the United States, sorted by gender. During the July 2016 survey it was found that 22 percent of female U.S. internet users had been called offensive names online. Ten percent of female internet users have also been sexually harassed online, compared to only five percent of male internet users.
