This statistic shows the value share of alcoholic drink sales in Spain for the 12 month period ending December 27, 2015, by category. During this period, wine held a 32.1 percent share of all alcoholic drink sales in Spain and beer 41.4 percent. A majority of Spanish consumers drink alcohol once a month, with per capita levels of beer consumption on the decrease. Beer sales are, however, predominantly done in the on-trade. Spanish wine consumers have a preference for both red wine and wines originating from Spain.
Spirits are currently experiencing a revival, with the share of consumers that have a mixed drink at least weekly on the rise.
