Social media sites frequently used for news U.S. 2020-2023

A study held in 2023 revealed that 53 percent of X (formerly known as Twitter) users regularly used X for news. By contrast, users of major platforms Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube were less inclined to get their news from those sites, though usage of TikTok for news almost doubled between 2020 and 2023, whilst YouTube did not enjoy the same growth. The least popular social media site for news among its users was WhatsApp.
