This statistic shows the percentage growth in household product sales value for selected European country markets in the 12 month period ending June 28, 2015. During this period, sales increase for all countries given with the exception of Italy, which showed a 2.6 percent decline and the Netherlands with 1.1 percent decline in household product sales value.
Percentage change in household product sales value in selected European countries in 2014/15, by country
Household products include the categories fabric detergents, paper disposables, household cleaners, fabric enhancers, dishwash, cleaning supplies, air fresheners, insecticides and shoe cleaners. Exceptions for each country are as follows:
France - includes leather cleaning products, does not include disposable wet wipes.
Germany - includes leather cleaning products, excludes mops, brushs and rubber gloves.
UK - excludes stain remover or fabric bleach products or paper disposable napkins. does not include tools other than rubber gloves.
Italy - exclude tumble dry enhancers.
Spain - excludes anti-lime scale for laundry, tumble dry enhancer or fabric storage products.
Market channels used to source data include hypermarkets and supermarkets, plus drugstores, impulse outlets, small self service and hard discounters depending on the region.
