Ratio of plastic card fraud loss to transaction turnover in the UK 2003-2019
This statistic illustrates the value of fraud loss to turnover resulting from debit and credit card fraud in the United Kingdom (UK) from 2003 to 2019. Fraud loss to turnover is calculated as a proportion of card fraud loss for every one hundred British pounds spent in transactions. It can be seen that the value of fraud loss to turnover decreased overall during the period under observation, reaching a value of 0.08 pence per hundred British pounds of transactions in 2019. The largest value for fraud loss to turnover on credit and debit card transactions was found in 2004, when a fraud loss to turnover of 0.14 pence was recorded.
