A May 2023 report analyzed the main reasons for buying art among art professionals and collectors worldwide. According to the study, 81 percent of surveyed art professionals stated that their clients purchased art for collecting purposes but with an investment view. Meanwhile, roughly 64 percent of art collectors said the same. Overall, just four percent of art professionals and five percent of art collectors involved in the study mentioned that purchasing art was solely for investment purposes.
