UK large firms: cash return to shareholder ratio rated by company CFOs 2017-2021

This statistic illustrates the ratio of cash returns to shareholders (high, normal or low in comparison with typical levels), rated by chief financial officers (CFOs) of the largest United Kingdom corporations. Data is presented for the first quarter of 2017 to the second quarter of 2021. The cash return ratio was rated to be relatively low by the smallest share of respondents in the third quarter of 2016, by eight percent of financial officers. As of the second quarter of 2021 it was rated as low by 68 percent of financial officers, likely due to the economic effects of the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
